NO! This program is created with flexibility as a primary objective! You have three choices:
1) sign up for any module you'd like and receive 20 hours of Yoga Alliance continuing education credits. ZERO commitment required;
2) pay the $200 enrollment deposit as a commitment to the 300 hr YTT and receive each module at a discounted price. When you've completed the 4 required module + 1 required practicum module + 8 elective modules, you'll receive your 300 hr YTT certificate and the status of RYT-500 from Yoga Alliance, as long as your 200 hr YTT was a Yoga Alliance accredited program;
3) pay in full and go all in!
Yoga Alliance, and thus our 300 hour YTT program, requires each credentialed instructor to complete 30 Practicum hours, 15 of which need to involve a Lead Trainer. They may include practice teaching, receiving and giving feedback, observing others teaching and assisting students while someone else is teaching. A practicum allows instructors to apply what they've learned in a real environment. Practicums help provide you with professional skills related to your topic of choice.
In our flexible program, you will choose your practicum topic and create your own curriculum. For example, you may choose to create and deliver a workshop on arm balances; you may choose to develop a child yoga curriculum and come up with a plan to market and execute the curriculum; you may choose to create a book club/study group on the Bhavagad Gita; you may choose to create a 200 hour YTT. The possibilities are limited only by your own creative thinking.
Additionally, and especially if you are interested in leading teacher trainings, you will have opportunities to assist and lead in this program.
While this module is required, the topic and timing is up to you.
To complete the 300 hour program, you must complete 8 elective modules. Right now we have 9 elective modules, listed above, and will offer more topics over the next two. Some of the more popular topics may also be offered twice in case you couldn't catch it the first time around. Because flexibility is our goal, we'll listen to feedback and requests as much as possible, so feel free to reach out and request other topics!
There are four REQUIRED modules that must be completed in order to earn a Yoga Alliance 300/500 hour Registered Yoga Teaching certification:
trauma informed yoga, history and philosophy, masterful teaching, advanced anatomy and a practicum.
No problem! Just sign up if and when you choose. You'll receive 20 Yoga Alliance Continuing Education credits. Each module is $400 and no other commitment is necessary.
We are committed to offering one module per month through September 2027. The REQUIRED modules will be offered once per year. Other more popular elective modules will likely be offered twice as well. And hey, Carolyn and Michele would love to keep the "doors" open as long as we have an interested and active community. We'll keep the ball rolling as long as our community keeps showing up. So, if you don't happen to complete all 13 modules prior to September 2027 AND we're still going strong, you can take that additional time to complete the program.
To be essential and honest, you may not receive your 300 hour certificate. Our commitment to you is to offer all four REQUIRED modules once a year. Elective modules will be offered monthly over the course of 24 months. So, you have 24 months to complete 12 modules plus your practicum. We'll do our best to get your feedback regarding scheduling, but we cannot make any guarantees. Thus, it is your responsibility to plan and schedule accordingly to meet this commitment.
